Our Annual Appeal

2014 - A Brilliant Year for the Clan Currie Society

This has been an exciting year for the Clan Currie Society culminating in our 16th annual Pipes of Christmas concerts which drew record crowds in NYC and NJ. Our efforts continue to drive our mission of being the premiere Scottish heritage program in the United States.

Here are but a few of the highlights of our educational and cultural outreach efforts in the USA and beyond:


We awarded four music scholarships to deserving students studying in the US, Canada and Scotland. In addition, we announced the launch of a new music composition scholarship at Edinburgh Napier University.


Our support helped establish and sustain many international programs, including:

The US National Scottish Harp Championship

The Royal National Mod

The Struileag Concert and Gaelic Poetry Competition

The New York Tattoo

The Clan Currie Research Prize at Sabhal Mor Ostaig

The Glasgow School of Art /MacIntosh Library Appeal

Harp Programs at Scottish Games in CA, CT, GA & VA

Special Events:

We produced outstanding events for the benefit of the General Public, including:

Tartan Day on Ellis Island

The Harp Glen at the Seaside Highland Games

Brit Week/Los Angeles

The Pipes of Christmas


We produced and participated in a whole host of events to further the knowledge and appreciation of Gaelic culture and Scottish history, including:

4th Annual MacMhuirich Academic Symposium

The 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn

NJ 350 Celebration

The Commonwealth Games

Highland Games & Gatherings


We provided in-kind support to a number of worthy

organizations over the past year, including:

The British Soldiers Fund

Poppy Scotland

The St. Andrew's Society of the State of New York

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey
